Since
his childhood Peter has had an interest in a number of subjects that
include aviation, military history, ships of yesteryear and Australian rural
life. Drawing and painting has filled his time since then too. At the age
of eighteen he joined the Australian Light Horse for a little adventure
and, to broaden his knowledge of military life
After serving
in the Army he began travelling and working part time on various commercial
and charter vessels. In June 1995 he passed for coxswain, and shortly after
acquired a position as third officer in the sail training vessel Alma Doepel.
His
time with brush and pencil had been a part time interest until he 'left the
sea' and got back into his old interest of horse riding through the countryside. But in
2002 he badly broke his leg from a fall. During his recuperation
period Peter brought out his old brush and pencil and now his interest in art has
become a major subject in life.
As Peter was born in Malta to a
proud Royal Marine and Maltese mother, his ambitions to paint scenes over and around Malta
are not far in coming to light.
