Kendo is for everyone, it can be done by men, women and children of all ages. We have an eight week beginner's course to help introduce novices to the joys of Kendo. This course will allow participants to learn the fundamentals of Kendo necessary for an easier integration into the general training sessions. The course will comprise of  8 training sessions. It also includes any club equipment you may need to use in that time and an information booklet that will reinforce the key training sessions. This booklet will also give you some more insight into the history and philosophies of Kendo.

Beginners Course Outline -
Course duration: 8 sessions at 2 hours per session
Cost: $80.00 This includes instruction, hall hire, insurance, information folder and use of equipment.
Week 1 & 2

Goals: Postures & Footwork
Handout: Postures, Footwork & Basic Japanese Terminology


Week 3 & 4

Goals: Initiation to Bogu (Do & Tare) & Basic Saburi
Handout: Bogu (History & how to put on correctly), Basic Cuts & Kiai


Week 5, 6 & 7

Goals: Basic Waza (Against an Opponent), Kettakaeshi,
Uchikomigeiko & Initiation to Full Bogu (Men & Kote)
