Simple Text
Choose the Text tool
Click the cursor where you want to place the text.
Type
Commit the text by Tick on options bar
“Enter”
on numerical key pad
Change

Type Options Bar Review details nb Warp icon and Character / Paragraph palette toggle on RHS
Change Horizontal to Vertical Text Icon on menu bar
Type Layer

Paragraph text
The type automatically wraps to fit the size of the text
box.
Text remains editable despite eg rotating the box.
Styles
With Text layer active: Layer / Styles Make a choice
Layer Styles Layers/Layer Styles
or double click blue layer bar
Make choices and edit as needed
Rasterize Type
If you
are sure that you will make no more changes to your text, you can rasterize it.
This means that you will change the text from something that can be edited (the
vector outlines that form the text and the effects) into pixels that you can
edit only by painting or filtering.
To change the layer into pixels, click Layer
/ Rasterize.
(“T” thumbnail changes and can’t
edit the text but you can use filters and change styles)
Check Spelling Rt click on selected text (and review other options)
New text from other applications Copy and Paste text from eg “Word”
H & Vert Type Mask Tool Becomes a selection when committed
Change font of selected text
Target text layer (or multiple selected text layers)
Double click T thumbnail to select the text
Turn off
View / Extras. So you can see the text without the selection highlighting
Highlight font name in Formatting bar
Use up and down arrow keys to view different fonts "live".
Turn on View / Extras.
Font Preview in Font dropdown box Edit / Preferences / Type / Font Preview Tick
Text Presets Make a preset for repeated jobs
Warping Text eg for text on a bottle label Either:-
1. Warp Text

This
distorts a bitmap so you might get jagged edges.
