Australian
Album of the 20th Century.
An
animated photo album representing an historical thumbnail sketch of
Australia during the 20th century. (1400KBytes). This will take some
time to load completely, but you can begin viewing the pages as they
arrive.
This
is a Quicktime movie that uses the photo-JPEG CODEC to produce high
quality images for web delivery. The video compressors do not work well
on this type of image since they insert key frames at the wrong places.
The
CDROM version is a Director movie which is 640x480 pixels in dimension.
The graphics are 256 colour, optimised palette images, so the Director
movie occupies 24MBytes.
The
concept came from Josie Arnold, Kitty Vigo and Dan Greene, the historical
photographs from Josie Arnold and the artwork (3D rendered) by Dan Greene.
The processing of the graphics to produce an animation small enough
for CDROM delivery and the assembling of the animation in Macromedia
Director were performed by Richard Rothwell.
