Well
it’s been a totally crazy and hectic time leading up to getting
everything ready for Fashion Exposed but we got there. For 3 days buyers
from all over the country and parts of Asia descend into darling harbour
to see what is on offer for the upcoming summer season. For the first
time Rocket Fuel was there with it’s own stand.

On November 25 Rocket Fuel designer Susan Goodwin was invited by the FRANK team www.frankteam.com.au to take part in a panel of speakers at Sydney Olympic park for NSW Careers Advisors Conference
Together with the other panellists Susan spoke of how she started her own business, the ups and downs of trying to keep a business running and also how she chose what courses to do while at high school and after that would get her the skills she needed to follow her dreams.

time with the other panellists, I think we laughed more at each others
tales of craziness than anything else! The teachers and careers advisors
in the audience really seemed to appreciate the information we were giving
them and hopefully it will help out some student who wants to follow their
own dream”- Susan
For the past week Susan
has been working with a group of high school students in the Sutherland
Shire. They come from about 15 different schools and have together for
a whole week to do lectures about the industry, learn about the types
of jobs available and participate in a whole lot of crazy design time
competing against each other for prizes of Rocket Fuel goodies!

With the wettest wildest night Sydney had seen for some time a large group of brave individuals took on the elements to see Rocket Fuel designer Susan Goodwin give a guest talk at Customs House as part of their Creative Pros http://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/pinestreet/YouthProgram/ICEY.html program. Other speakers included Peter Dwyer and Jacqui Murray who shared their amazing experiences of their lives and times within the fashion industry. Susan spoke of taking the leap to start her own business and where she draws her design inspiration from.

the freezing cold outside the audience was great and even gave me fantastic
tips on grants and assistance packages available that I didn’t know
about. Some friends came down to hear me so it was good to have some familiar

great magazine out together by the Frank team continues to inspire girls

Anna and the team at IGNITE rock! We had a great couple of hours hanging out with them at their local coffee shop while Anna nearly wore her hand out from writing down notes on all we were talking about. Smart thing that she is she managed to turn our rambling conversation into a profile on Rocket Fuel designer Susan Goodwin and then put it into IGNITE.
