LEFT: Robert Fettell (Port
Macquarie NSW) raced this Patriot P2 in the 2002 Australian HO Slot Car Open Championship held at Mad Max Motorplex (Kempsey NSW) 14/15
September. Although he didn't win, he had a good time, which is what HO Slot Car Racing is really all about……...

RIGHT: Rod Thurgood entered this car in the 2002 Australian HO Slot Car Open Championship held at Mad Max Motorplex (Kempsey NSW) 14/15
September. Car is a Tomy Super G+ with stock armature and polymer 'Light Force' Motor and Traction Magnets. Despite being well down on power (compared to his rivals) he managed to qualify 5th in a 15 car field! The body is a Lancia GTP painted by 'Sprays By Mac' out of the  United Kingdom. Car finished runner-up in the 'Best
Presented Racecar' section of the
titles
.

LEFT: An Independent Front End (or even an O-ring Front End) can make a big difference to the handling of a stock Tomy Super G+ when combined with Flanged Rear Hubs and Slip-on
Silicone Rear Tyres. A cheap and
effective way to make your G+ handle better on all types of HO Slot Car track. You can obtain these type of parts from business houses like HO AUSTRALIA.

RIGHT: Here is a good example of a Tomy Super G+ equipped with an
O-ring Front End and Slip-on Silicone Rear Tyres (in this case the green tyres are called TASSIE SLICKS and are manufactured and sold right here in Australia by AFX TASMANIA).

LEFT: This is a very handy tool for measuring track clearance and
mounting lexan HO bodies to chassis. Manufactured by BSRT SCALE AUTO it isn't cheap, but a very worthwhile
addition to any HO Pit Box. The track rail is identical in height to Tomy AFX.

RIGHT: What goes around comes around! Here we see the latest Life-Like chassis known as the T car. The body however, is hard plastic and was manufactured by Rokar many years ago. The interesting thing is it is a 'snap-fit' onto the T car chassis! This car was used in practice at the
inaugural Australian HO Slot Car Super Stock Championship at Mad Max
Motorplex (Kempsey NSW) 14th
September 2002. It didn't race, but would it have been legal??? Would have been an interesting 'test' for the Tech guys...
