Welcome to the Old Rosevale Cemetery |
If you're interested in Hohenhaus family history (in Australia), there is a small cemetery just outside of Rosevale, Queensland that you should visit. However, if can't make the trip, the following images and headstone inscriptions will give you some idea of what it's like. |

Apart from the fact that several of my relatives are buried in this cemetery, my great grandfather, Albert Hohenhaus, and his bride, Louise Meier, were married in the St Laurentius Church that stood near this site from 1881 until 1928 (it was destroyed by fire).
A small brass plaque near the entrance displays the following commemorative notice... |

There a few dozen graves in the cemetery, dating from about the late 1880s until the 1950s. I will not attempt to document all the people buried there -- only the members of the Meier family, with whom I am distantly related.
