IRENE’S PROJECTS:
I have researched the background for three books that I am currently working on. They have been somewhat neglected over the past five years, but I am hoping to get back to them and published in the near future.
ËËËËËËËËËËËËËË
The
Bidencope Story.
The story of Joseph Bidencope who arrived on the Trade Wind in 1858, and who started the Bidencope business in Hobart.
This book has been completed and was launched on 17 February 2005.
Copies can be obtained schafferi@optusnet.com.au or by phone 03 62722124.
Copies can also be obtained from most book-shops in Hobart.
ËËËËËËËËËËËËËË
The Sea Shall
Not Have Them.
The story of Stephen and Margaret White, who were shipwrecked on Tristan D’Cunha, an island in the Pacific Ocean, in 1824, and who later came to Tasmania.
I have begun getting this book ready for publication. (Still on my desk)
ËËËËËËËËËËËËËË
Nature in its
Wildest Form.
The story of James Dickinson, a convict, who became a florist in Hobart Town and conducted excursions to the Wellington Falls on Mt. Wellington.
I am working on this one as time permits. (Still on my desk)
