Eduardo is a post graduate student from Curtin University's school of Social Work and has completed his Masters of Social Work by research in 2000. Since graduating in 1993, Eduardo has been working in the Social Work field and is an accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. He has started his professional career as a Social Worker at Princess Margaret Hospital, Subiaco, in February 1994 and joined the Department for Community Development (DCD) in June 1994. He has worked as a Relationship Counsellor with Relationships Australia (formerly Marriage Guidance Council) between 1995 and 2004, and as a Family and Child Counsellor and Mediator at the Family Court of Western Australia between October 2001 and April 2004. Eduardo's current professional and research work has given him experience in the areas of parent/teen conflict, family violence, child protection, couple and family therapy, grief and loss counselling. He is a trained Hypnotherapist and has prepared, and delivered, education seminars on Parent Adolescent conflict for people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Background (CaLD) people. His knowledge and experience in multicultural issues, plus his fluency in four other languages - Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and French - allows him to more effectively work with families and individuals from different cultural backgrounds. Eduardo has been a consultant for fellow workers and other professionals in this particular area.
