I tried several dozen other shareware search utilities that either didn't work, or forced you to fork over $39.95 to find out if they did, or took half a day to figure out how to use. I tried His Grepship and was pleasantly surprised. It was very easy to use without sacrificing functionality. The wildcard search feature is extremely powerful (modeled after the UNIX 'grep' command) without adding much complexity. The included text editor is a better tool for editing program or html source files than Notepad, without the useless "word-processing" features in Wordpad. I also liked the single-window interface, reducing the start-up time and saving me from wading through lots of setup/preferences. A very well constructed tool.

Hi Everyone,
Is there a way I can change the html templates globally - 1 change - and it changes it all over. I don't lilke haveing to change all the pages individually. Especially the common elements - like the left column of options.
Any suggestions would be awesome

I have a recommendation for an excellent (and cheap) tool that will address your need extremely well. It's a Windows utility called (believe it or not) HisGrepship and it's authored by an Australian guy named HisNerdShip. It is designed to search through an entire directory (or an entire directory structure), look at every type of file you tell it to examine, and either provide a list of every time the string you've given it appears in each file OR (optionally) do a global replacement on that string.
It even provides a commit/rollback option after the global search and substitution has been completed! AND it's lightning fast too!
I have used this tool extensively and personally recommend it as one of the most valuable tools in my webmaster's toolkit! How the heck I would have EVER have managed to rehost a 300mb website that's running dozens of CGI scripts and hundreds of html files in just 24 hours without its help I can't even imagine.
And the best part is, the cost for all this capability is just $15! (author's note - this price is out of date) Trust me, the first time you see HisGrepShip rocket through 1100 documents in under a minute and make the same change to ALL of them, you'll wonder how you EVER lived without it!
BTW, I'm not the author and get no compensation for recommending this tool. But I can't help but recommend such a perfect tool that was obviously designed for the exact problem you are trying to solve!

Spend the money. You'll be VERY glad you did!
