Brisbane-Festival Hall-Friday April 3rd, 1998

Quo are like a tonic. If you're feeling down, think of Status Quo and you immediately cheer up. As I approached Festival Hall, I was in such a good mood that I donated a lot more to the 'Heart Foundation' Collectors than I had planned. The buzz inside the hall was incredible. Quo T.shirts were everywhere as the crowd streamed in. You could tell straight away that it was a bigger turn out than 1997. It was disappointing that the souvenir stand only had last years tour guides and T.shirts on sale, so a lot of people were quite peeved off about this.

Local Brisbane band, 'Loud Eyes' hit the stage at 8pm and played six songs from their debut CD. You could sense the crowd were a little restless but gave the band a friendly round of applause as they left the stage.

By the time Quo ambled on stage, about twenty minutes later, the venue was packed and ready to go. The famous Quo chant echoed around the hall as the boys went through a few exercises. The cheers erupted as the bars of 'Whatever You Want' blasted through the speakers. Rossi got the crowd involved right from the start and was certainly at his chatty and humorous best. The set was brilliant and once again seemed to be over too bloody quickly, but time flies when you are having fun. The standing ovation offered to the band was entirely deserved and I predict that on the next visit to Queensland, Quo will have to play a bigger venue as Festival Hall just won't be big enough.

GO QUO-THE GREATEST BAND EVER.

Australia - 1997

What can I tell you that you haven't already heard? Amazing, energetic, hot, exciting, and that was just the fans. The band were even more than all this. All the above was created from a Quo gig. If you didn't go along, you are crazy. They gave their fans a night full of excitement and great music.

These guys are truly amazing and they give to us fans their energy and excitement. They kept up on our toes all night and never let us down. We sang along to every tune, song and words. Us Aussie Quo fans know how to rock. They came to Oz, after an absence of nineteen years and nineteen years of being starved of not seeing them, we all just went crazy.

This wasn't a video or CD playing, this was the real thing. The music, the sound, songs we all know off by heart, it was so long in the coming. Before we knew it, they were gone again. Word came through about Rick having heart surgery. They had only just left and we heard the news once again.

They say they'll be back in two years, meanwhile their fans wait. We have to settle now to listen to CD's again but in out minds we will remember the tour and hope we will have another chance to see our mighty Quo back on Australian shores in the near future. We can't wait another nineteen years and we know we won't. They'll always be the greatest band in the world from past to present, they always have been and will continue to.
