* The dream is showing that although physical work is being done in the church, the time of testing of the spiritual house by fire (1 Cor 3:12-15) for the local ministry and for all church ministries is at hand. Dream by Howard Schmidt submitted on 3rd August, 1999.
* Perhaps the pastor is currently thinking about abandoning this style of ministry but he is finding it difficult to do so. Dream for intercession by Sheila submitted on 5th August, 1999.
* The dream is describing a major disruption that suggests a major sabotage by the enemy which the dream is warning you about. The warning is most likely about people whom the enemy will spill out into the stream of church life in order to disrupt it in causing chaos and destruction. * Re: D&V List No.327 What they thought was real, turned out to be an illusion. We who claim the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the anointing, must be aware that this precious gift is given to us that we might be able to give truth for all who come looking and that it will be the real thing! I agree 100% that this is talking to the 5 fold ministry. So many withered hands with thumbs that cannot grasp truth...So many bees still looking... Observation and insight by Mary Adams.

Christian greetings. Recently, a young lady in our church had the following
dream:
Her mother called her to come outside and see the storm clouds that were
gathering. As she watched with the storms approaching, two fireballs suddenly
fell toward the earth. One of them burned out as it fell; the other fell
all the way to the earth. The one that reached the earth changed as it
neared the ground. From a fireball it turned into an American flag. As
she watched, the portion of the flag where the stars are, changed -- the
stars became a cross. When the flag hit the ground, it disintegrated but
the cross remained.

Context: I've been recently reading Mortichai Martins' book "The Blood
of These Keys", which is about Pope John-Paul II's effort to steer world
political powers toward a less humanistic, more God-centered civil
structure. Big job. Much of the book describes a basic corrosion of
faith and doctrine with in the Roman Catholic Church, and how that makes
it difficult for the Pope to make progress on behalf of the people of
God. Anyway, after reading a goodly amount of this before bed a couple
of nights ago, I wrapped up with my usual prayers and a request for
insight into God's Truth and for personal guidance. I did not ask any
specific guidance regarding the church that I attend. I got the
following dream:
Dream: I found myself in a large building with many rooms, corridors
and chambers. It had a pleasant 'feel' to it, even though it was a bit
dark inside, and it seemed that I 'had a place' in it, and I was looking
for 'my room'. The building seemed to be built mostly of stone, kind of
like an old church, castle or monastary, and pretty Gothic in layout.
After wandering around a bit, I found a nice room that had the feel of
being 'my place'. It was medium sized, had a fireplace and slit-type
windows.
Several times when looking for this room, and after settling into it, I
found myself talking with a woman from my current church (strange,
because, I've never dreamed about her or her family before. She attends
*all* church functions, and strikes me as devout). In a few words each
time she warned me not to be 'caught' outside at a particular time in the
near future. There was some threat of being identified 'from above' by
some one or some thing in the sky. I had the impression it was like
satellite or aerial surveillance.
A bit later, I found myself in a meeting with her, her husband, and some
other folks that I didn't recognize. We were going over some sort of a
building plan and schedule, with dates and budget items. I recall
things like air conditioning equipment, and the like. (In reality, my
church is undergoing a renovation and building some new facilities).
Then I found myself outside the building talking with another group of
people. I was describing what I had heard before from the woman to
them, about the need to find a place of shelter and not to be 'caught'
outside. At the moment I was facing away from the building talking, and
one of the people got this horrified expression and shouted 'look!',
pointing behind me. I turned and saw that the entire building was
engulfed in flames. At first I thought it was strange, because it was a
stone building; then I saw that while the foundation and lower walls
were stone, most of the upper parts, windows, lintels and roof were
wood, and these were burning like a rocket - all over at once. Oddly,
the walls were standing OK, but just the wooden parts were being
consumed ferociously.
I was suddenly distressed about loosing my 'things', my clothes in particular, that were stored inside the burning building (though I didn't remember putting any clothes into a closet...). Then, within a moment, I 'knew' that I didn't need those things, and that I would be all right after all. That even though I had
essentially only the clothes on my back, I had the feeling that I had everything that I needed from that building. Then I woke up.
POSSIBLE INTERPRETATION: The building appears to represent the Church
in general or perhaps the church that I attend in particular. It's a
pretty typical American main-line Protestant parish, although, in truth,
I've been feeling that the level of Spiritual awareness there could be
higher. The warnings about the survellance and inspection from above
could be about when the Angels count the righteous before the
Tribulations, though the connotation in the warning was that it was
'bad' to be counted/identified in the coming process. The wood in the
building speaks to materiality, noticing that the foundations and parts
of the building built earlier were made of stone (the Rock of Faith).
The burning wood of the church would then speak of either the
destruction of a church whose recent parts are overly materialistic, or
perhaps a cleansing process that removes the materiality from the sound
(Spiritually based) components of the church. Either way, the feeling
of being OK and having 'sufficient' clothing is a relief. I do not know
what to make of the survellance process, or the fact that I ended up
talking to a group of unknow people outside the particular church. I
don't know if the survellance and 'counting' process took place or not.
So, while some parts of this are pretty clear, based on your book on
interpretations, the latter parts are confusing to me, especially the
inside/outside part. Your insights would be appreciated.

himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Howard, this is the scripture that seems to fit your dream and which gives us insight into the meaning of the dream. The fact that your church is undergoing renovation and building new facilities also help in the interpretation.
It seems to me that you were right in that the dream does have application to the Church in general and also to your local church. It appears to me that the latter is being emphasized here and the first paragraph is, in fact, identifying your local church (I 'had a place' in it, and I was looking for 'my room') It is a large and fairly traditional church/denomination (Gothic in layout) which is spiritually wanting somewhat (a bit dark inside) but has its foundation in that which is of Christ (stone).
The warning by an insider for you not to be seen outside at a particular time because of a surveillance from above could be read as a discouragement for you to have an outsider’s objective assessment of the actual spiritual state of the local church and being identified (from heaven) in your own spiritual condition thereby.
Well, the dream is showing that although physical work is being done in the church, the time of testing of the spiritual house by fire (1 Cor 3:12-15) for the local ministry and for all church ministries is at hand. Even though the foundation and wall structure will survive the test, most of that which make up the spiritual building is of wood (of the world) and will be burnt. The burning wooden roof is saying that that which is genuinely prophetic and of the direct teaching and leading of the Holy Spirit is wanting.
As for you personally as a temple of God (1 Cor 6:19), you have built well (clothing you already have) on the foundation of that which has been laid. Your identification with the spiritual condition of the local church will not affect your individual standing before God relative to having a prophetic roof in directly hearing the Lord. This brings the responsibility of our salvation and growth in the faith of Jesus Christ right back to us as individuals.

I debated whether to send this in, but I finally felt that it might
benefit me in helping to direct my intercession.
I had this dream a couple of weeks ago. As often happens in my dreams
this one took place in my primary childhood home. I was outside on the
left side of the house and could see my pastor cleaning his vehicle
parked at the curb. He approached me and said that he needed to return
the vacuum cleaner because it wasn't doing a good job. He seemed
concerned that he wouldn't be able to take it back. I proceeded to
encourage him that no matter what the circumstances he could still take
it back. Then I asked him where he bought it and he said France. At
this point I wasn't sure how he would manage it.
Then we were at the front of the house to the left. I was telling him
about the vegetable plants I had planted in the yard. I told him that I
was a month late getting them in, but was believing God to make them
grow and produce in spite of the delay. I was telling him what each of
them were. I had planted them in the front as well as the back yard.
This is what I recall from the dream.

S, I believe you are right in that this dream is for you to bring back to the Lord in intercession for your pastor. Your childhood home is your local church. The picture of your pastor washing his car is perhaps a portrayal of cleansing in his ministry(car). The vacuum cleaner depicts the ministry for cleansing that is currently held by the pastor and which is ineffective. Perhaps the pastor is currently thinking about abandoning this style of ministry but he is finding it difficult to do so. Herein is your calling for intercession.
As for the vegetable plants that you had planted in the front yard and back yard, they may represent some vital teachings (vegetables for food) that the prophetic that you represent has sown into the people of the local church. Because you had to tell the pastor what each vegetable was, these vital teachings are probably not familiar to the leadership ministry of the church. Here again is another point for intercession that could significantly affect the spiritual direction of the church.

I was Driving down a 4 lane Free Way, I was in the Far Right lane, when I
saw a Large Double Dump Truck in the far left lane when he pulled off and did
a U turn, just before a curve to the right of the freeway. Then I noticed
that the far left lane, was a single lane, going in the opposite direction,
When I got around the curve in the freeway, the other cars in front of me
were swerving in the road. I then noticed they were running to miss something
in the road. I see what I thought was an animal, but as I swerved to the
left, to miss running over the animal, I saw that it was two people mangled,
because they were run over by Vehicles in the road.. Then I noticed a lot of
people in the road, as if a Truck dumped a lot of people in the back, a lot of
cars involved in the accident, but I knew the people in the road were from
the Truck. IT was from something they fell OUT of .. So I pulled off the left
to help, and woke up..... End of dream...!!!!

Interpreting this dream without circumstances that the dream may be
addressing is not easy. Perhaps I can just share some things that may
help you clarify a better understanding of the meaning.
The picture of driving down a freeway amongst other vehicles can
represent a flow of life. Here your dream could be addressing the flow
of life in the Church in general, in the local church or in your family or individual life. The dream is describing a major disruption that suggests a major sabotage by the enemy which the dream is warning you about.
The warning is most likely about ungodly people (from dump truck) whom the enemy will spill out into the stream of church life in order to disrupt it in causing chaos and destruction.

Dear Friends: I hope you will not mind if I add my comments to the wonderful dream about the bee and the withered hand by Joan Pringle. This might possibly be something to think about:
When I was in South India one year doing ministry, I was in my room lying on my bed. It was terribly hot, so all the windows were opened. I was staying in a very old house which had once been a mission when an English family lived there in the 1800's. Suddenly, a bee flew in through the window. It alerted me, for I did not wish to be stung by it. But as I watched, it headed for a calendar on the wall. There was a picture of a baby's face on the calendar, and the bee flew and landed on the pupil of its eye. It seemed attracted to that eye. I ran it out of the room, but soon it returned again, and headed (also once again) to the baby's eye. I ran it out again. And once again, the bee returned and did the same thing. Then I began to wonder if perhaps that nearsighted bee thought that baby's pupil was the center of a flower or something. So I experimented. I turned the calendar over. Soon, the same bee came again. But since it couldn't find the baby's eye, it just buzzed around the room looking, then flew off and never returned.
A bee is looking for something...pollen! He's not interested in other things...only pollen. Even tho he many times makes mistakes because his eyesight is myoptic and cannot discern, he is still hunting the place where pollen is supposed to be. I thought Joan's dream was very special, because the bee landed on the thumb. When Aaron and his sons were anointed, the oil was placed on their thumbs! Without our thumbs, we are helpless to grasp anything. So I see that as saying without the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we cannot grasp spiritual truth
and hold on. And that anointing must also produce something, we need to be "nectar" to those looking for truth, not just something that "looks like" the real thing. That bee that visited me in India went away without any nectar, for the baby's eye was not the real thing. There are many, many people today who are looking for this "nectar", but unfortunately they find their efforts disappointing. What they thought was real, turned out to be an illusion. We who claim the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the anointing, must be aware that this precious gift is given to us that we might be able to give truth for all who come looking and that it will be the real thing! I agree 100% that this is talking to the 5 fold ministry. So many withered hands with thumbs that cannot grasp truth...So many bees still looking...
