The real me, that 'I' was seeing in image was the one out there, beyond, in some place that I didn't understand. The Holy Spirit’s teaching of doctrine in a dream by Howard Schmidt on 15^th July, 1999.

The dream is also saying that the Church/Bride is not yet ready for marriage because the commercialism aspect of it is yet being purged by the fire of the Spirit of God. When this purging is completed, God’s people will then walk through the Door of the quickened appropriation of the New Testament Covenant in the Blood of Jesus into the holy place of direct and intimate communion with God. Where there was dry sand conditions or spiritual barrenness, God’s servants will bring in the manifestation of God first as water upon the sand. This will then lead to more significant manifestations like low tide streams. The low tide tidal streams will then lead into greater manifestations of God which will finally lead into the large body of water of an unprecedented manifestation of the glory of the Lord which shall fill all the earth. Context: I was still in NYC in the hotel room, and continued to study Epistle To The Romans in my spare time.

The Real Me – 15 July, 1999

I dreamt that I was working on some electrical equipment. It seemed to be an office or household of some sort. I was working on some complex electromechanical device that was installed overhead in the ceiling. Apparently, my job was to somehow open up this thing, a rearrange the parts to make it perform a new and more useful function. I got it open and started working on it, and then the next thing I knew I was waking up - standing in the same place where I had been working, but the project was done, complete and working. Apparently I blanked out, fell asleep, or sleep walked through the time period when the work got done. I was mystified, baffled and annoyed at this at the moment. It then occurred to me, as a distant memory coming back, that I had had this experience fairly often, and I while happy that the projects got done, I was worried about how it was happening, and somewhat annoyed and disappointed that it wasn't really 'me' getting the work done. Sure I got the local credit, and the benefit of whatever the work was, but I didn't have the ego gratification/satisfaction of really having done it myself. This whole bit reminded me of the 'Elves and the Shoemaker'.

Small scene change in same dream. I was in the same place but looking up at some sort of a large TV screen or display, or perhaps a billboard with a moving image on it. I saw four faces on the screen; I kinda 'knew' that all of these people were associates of some sort. Curiously, they were all looking at me thoughtfully, like they could see out of the screen upon which I saw them. They had this kind of distant, and yet paternal, caring look. Difficult to describe. And then it struck me that one of them looked very familiar. And then, it occurred to me that one of the faces was - - - me!?

And then I had this kind of realization rush. If that was me on the screen, then who was me seeing the screen? Which/who was the real me? And then I realized that the me that I thought I knew as me, the one that disappeared or slept while 'my' work got done was really the image - an imaginary me. The real me, that 'I' was seeing in image was the one out there, beyond, in some place that I didn't understand. And that the real me, working in collaboration with the other three people/associates were really doing what I considered to be 'my' work during the periods when I clicked out.

Interpretation: Last night before going to bed I was reading Karl Barth's commentary on Pauls' Epistle to the Romans. It was the part just after Paul’s' burdensome realization that he did that which he did not do. And then realizing that he was justified by faith by the Spirit which dwelled in him. I wanted to know about what it meant really to have the Spirit dwell in one, and how to get it. A lot of the self dialog of Paul is wound up in a personal duality - the mind of the flesh and the mind of the Spirit - and sin dwelling in the body and the Spirit dwelling in the mind.

Confusing. It raises the question of who is me?

After reading that, I felt moved to open the Bible at some random point for a message. I thumb riffed through the book, and kind of thinking that I was around the Gospels, I instead found that I had opened the book to Hosea, and in fact my eyes fell first exactly on the opening lines of the sixth chapter of Hosea. These are the words that foreshadow the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the redemption of Israel. Wonderful. I absorbed that carefully, and then read over the whole of Hosea. Wow. Pretty heavy and hard on Israel and Judah. I was struck at the time by the repetitive images of the sinful leaders of Israel being hot like a furnace in their practice and pursuit of unrighteous things.

Anyway, I think this dream dealt with the separation and reality of a pair of 'mes'. There is the me of the flesh that is dead to/in sin. And there is the me of the Spirit that lives by God's Grace eternally. It is a mistake to think that the here/now/meat me is the entire me. In fact it appears that the me that I know is but an image, a fleeting chimera and not real. The 'me' that I saw as an image is the real everlasting version of me. It lives with the persons of God (the other three people in the screen), and indeed exists only with them.

So, this answers, or at least addresses, the issue of who/where is the real me - it's not here - it's above and beyond. Likewise it answers where work and results come from - from above and beyond. And how they operate - with God, Jesus and the Spirit. But I find the question of my motive, my will, somewhat open. Indeed I chose to pursue the projects that I was working on. But I seem to recall that I accepted these assignments from, or chose to work on things requested by someone else. And I have the impression that that someone else is female. I tend to think that this represents getting suggestions or directions from the Holy Spirit, and about the only real 'action' that I have is choosing to work on the projects assigned to/requested of me. I cannot take any credit for getting them done however, that really gets accomplished at a higher level. By some higher and different version me that is greater and subtler that the me that I know here in the world of the flesh.

Thus the missions come from above. The execution comes from above. The true me exists above. The only thing that the apparently imaginary 'me' does is choose to go along with this program.

This is consistent with another dream I had a few months ago about the fundamental importance of choosing to be led by God, the Spirit. Wow.

We were in a large building with very high walls. Part of it was a house and part of it was a department store. The ceiling was about forty feet above me.

FIRE IN DEPARTMENT STORE

In the back section, I was with a friend of mine named Armstrong and there was a lot of commotion. The store was on fire and it looked like nothing would be saved. In the back of this department store were counters, display areas, shelves, etc. In other words, a storage area for our wealth. We ran to a counter and were taking things to save them just as they were being burned.

I remember a huge pack of photos sprawled across the counter. I saw that the photo on top was of a mother (wife), husband and small children. I tried to grab them up and save them for the owners of these photos but they were stuck to the counter top. A woman behind the counter top in the midst of all the commotion said " No, You can't take those. Only take what is yours!"

I responded "but it's a family, a family's. I've got to take this. Look, a family!

A family!" After my repeated shouting, the clerk said "OK, but just that since

it's a family." Many clerks were saying and shouting " Only get what is yours. There is only time to get what is yours!" My impression was that some of us had what was ours close to our chest and were looking for anything of value which belonged to other families that could be rescued.

The overall impression was that everything here would be burned up. As soon as I received permission to pick up this other family's photos, they became unstuck from the counter top and then the threat of fire and destruction ended. There was no more commotion or flames. It was now clean up time and I could leave. A lot of the other people were going to check to make sure that everything was all right.

because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work

of what sort it is.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself

shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

LARGE SET OF DOORS AT FRONT OF BUILDING

I walked back towards the front of the building. The floor sloped upwards a bit and I climbed up a short, wide marble staircase to a large set of white French doors with lots of glass panes in them and also on the sides of the doors. I put my hand on the handle to leave. I paused for a few seconds. Behind me the department store area. No more threat of fire.

HOME OF GRAND AND ELEGANT SCALE

In front of me as I opened the door, an extremely large hallway, very wide, with a white tile floor. It was definitely a type of living area, like someone's home but on an extremely grand and elegant scale.

This hallway was ninety feet wide and two hundred feet long. The center of this area was devoid of furniture and covered in clean white tile. There were two pillars on the wall to my right and two more to my left. They looked like support columns. No people were in this area except for myself. I saw that at the end of the rectangular shaped hallway was the outside world. Outside those front doors it was sunny and looked kind of like New York city. At this point I woke up.

Upon writing this down, I remembered a very important part that I had left out. There was a wedding going to happen and I knew the bride. I was not thrilled that this marriage was going to happen due to something that the bride had done to me. What, I don't remember. Anyway, during the commotion, I found the bride's wedding invitations. They were a dull silver grey color and between 8-15 invitations. I knew that I could have placed them on the counter again and they would be burned in the fire and no one would have known that I had seen them. Someone, my friend I think, talked to me about this as if this was an opportunity to do just that. I said no, they were in my hand now and I wouldn't feel right knowing that I had let them disappear in the fire. I would keep them with me and give them to the bride. Even though I didn't like the fact that there were plans for this marriage, it was their decision.

COMMENT BY PAULA

The dream is about a large building divided into a department store and a home and the marriage of a bride which was about to take place. My immediate perception would be that the dream is about Christendom or the Church.

The revelation of the Church in this dream is that it is divided into that which indulges itself in commercialism and that which is a quality spiritual home. That is, the former is of the order of the spirit and system of this world and the latter is of the order of the Spirit of God. It is Christian commercialism and the spirit and order of the world thereof which is being judged by fire. This is a warning to all churches and Christians!

This was certainly a different kind of dream and/or vision. If there was

a dream before it, I was unable to recall it. Thank you and thank God for

Dream or Vision within dream August 18th or 19th. 1999

While sleeping I become aware that I am traveling at a great speed, super

sonic rocket type speed. I am in a vehicle and it seems as if I am skimming

above and over a beach at low tide. I am aware of someone with me flying or

driving this vehicle, but do not see anyone. It is a presence.

· Janet, you received this dream in August and this is the first of the prophesied three months in which God was going to do a work of great enlightenment associated with the raising up and gathering of the former and latter rains apostles. Well, your dream is saying that they will be borne on the “eagles’ wings” of the Holy Spirit and their work in the earth will be swift.

Exodus 19

4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and [how] I bare you on eagles

wings, and brought you unto myself.

5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then

ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth

[is] mine:

6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These

[are] the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before

At large and long intervals of space, dead logs, driftwood type logs, loom up before us and I think we are going to hit the logs. However, they move out of the way and disappear just as we are about to hit them. There were two or three of these logs.

· No opposition or obstacle is going to be able to stand before God’s end time servants.

Isa 54 - Isa 55

17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue

[that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the

heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me,

saith the LORD.

1. Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no

money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and

without price.

2 Wherefore do ye spend money for [that which is] not bread? and your labour

for [that which] satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye [that

which is] good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

First there is just sand and then wet sand and then I see before me low tide tidal streams flowing into larger streams and then into a body of water. I wake up before we reach the area where the streams flow into the larger stream into the body of water.

· There appears to be progression here in the manifestation of the Spirit of God in the going forth of God’s end time servants. Where there was dry sand conditions or spiritual barrenness, God’s servants will bring in the manifestation of God (living water) first as wet sand. This will then lead to more significant manifestations like low tide streams. The low tide tidal streams will then lead into greater manifestations of God which will finally lead into the large body of water of an unprecedented manifestation of the glory of the Lord which shall fill all the earth.

Ezek 47:1

behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house

eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and

the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at

the south side of the altar.

Ezek 47:6

And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought

me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river.

Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very

many trees on the one side and on the other.

Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country,

and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought

forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.

And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which

moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there

shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall

come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live

whither the river cometh.

During the day I contemplate and pray about this dream/vision. It comes to

mind that perhaps I am traveling high above the earth, that the beach may

have been a desert and that the tidal streams were rivers flowing into a

larger river that was flowing into a larger body of water.
