The small settlement in an isolated country area could be speaking of people, communities and countries that are isolated from the technologically advanced hot spots and are thereby at the mercy of the Y2K computer bug. The end of the year assembly may be depicting the end of 1999 and getting ready to enter the new millennium. The teachers represent officialdom concerning the Y2K bug. In trying not to alarm the public they are saying that there is no need to worry about the “snakes” of the Y2K computer bug. However, the people are informed and aware that they are dangerous! You may think your PC is "Y2K" compliant.

You may think your PC is "Y2K" compliant, and some little tests may have

actually affirmed that your hardware is compliant, and you may even have a

little company sticker affixed to your system saying "Y2K Compliant"... but

you'll be surprised that Windows may still crash unless you do this simple

exercise below.

there is an easy couple of steps to make sure you are Y2K compliant which

will correct a default setting in Windows Operating systems.

This is simple to do, but VERY important.

Click on "START".

Click on "SETTINGS".

Then Click on "Control Panel".

Double click on "Regional settings" icon (look for the little world globe).

Click on the "Date" tab at the top of the page. (last tab on the top right)

Where it says, "Short Date Sample", look and see if it shows a "two digit"

year format ("YY"). Unless you've previously changed it (and you probably

haven't) -- it will be set incorrectly with just the two Y's.. it needs to

be four!

That's because Microsoft made the 2 digits setting the default setting for

Windows 95, Windows 98 and NT.

This date format selected is the date that Windows feeds *ALL* application

software and will not rollover into the year 2000. It will roll over to the

year 00. (*)

Click on the button across from "Short Date Style" and select the option

that shows, "mm/dd/yyyy" or "m/d/yyyy". (Be sure your selection has four y's

showing, not just "mm/dd/yy).

Then click on "Apply".

Then click on "OK" at the button.

Easy enough to fix. However, every "as distributed" installation of Windows

worldwide is defaulted to fail Y2K rollover... Pass this along to your PC

buddies... no matter how much of a guru they think they are... this might be

a welcome bit of information!

HOWEVER

Right above these dates, it states any two digit year will be interpreted to

be between 1930 and 2029 by default if you are running Win98.

I am not sure about win95.

This was meant to correct the problem but just in case it doesn't it is a

good idea to follow the above. Please send this out to whomever you wish to.

CIRCUMSTANCES

I have been considering posting a D&V List on the Y2K computer bug.

DREAM

I was on the road in the vicinity of my high school in Fiji early in the morning just after midnight. I just found myself there. Suddenly a group of about four or five Europeans came down from the hill on their way in the direction of the town. Because of the strange time to be on the road I tried to keep from alarming them by my presence. I thought that they must be on to something strange too.

· Strange time after midnight to be on the road - Alert for Y2K bug post midnight 31^st December, 1999.

· Dreamer - Being prophetic I could be representing folks who are experts in dealing with the Y2K bug.

· Group of Europeans - Those who use computers in being technologically advanced.

As they walked past me I unobtrusively joined them. As we turned to the road on our left I walked beside the lady who was in the front. I felt to just follow her and not to take the lead from her. Trees that had been blown down in a storm were lying across this road and we had to walk around the fallen trees.

· Trees across the road blown down in a storm - Midnight rollover Y2K bug storm will have significant repercussions which will affect communication and travel.

· We had to walk around the fallen trees - Disruption to communication and travel will be negotiated.

We came to a large rock pool and the lady with me chose to walk to the right. As I looked ahead I saw that this will only come to end at the rocks on the side of the pool. I followed her knowing that the others would go to the left and be able to get to the other side and to the settlement where we were going. When the lady came to the rocks she could not go any further. I saw that the rocks were unstable and called out to warn her. Before she could turn around the rocks began to fall into the rock pool and she was falling with them. I lunged towards her, picked her up and jumped into the pool in front of the rocks in order to avoid them hitting us. To my amazement I was able to hold her up in the air and I was able fly to the other side of the pool so that she would not be wet. On the other side we continued our journey towards the settlement where we were going.

CIRCUMSTANCES

Last night the family again prayed for a word concerning the Y2K computer bug.

DREAM

A church group was using this old wooden building in a suburb where I was walking through. I then found myself walking down the stairs towards the bottom of this wooden building which was built on a hill. I knew that the leader of this church group was absent and the folks were receiving books which they were to distribute in the community. Some folks from my family in real life belonged to the group and a sister in law approached me as I was walking down the stairs. She asked me if I could come and help them fill in the books for their business. I knew that I didn’t know the details of accounting but that I knew more than they did without their leader. I turned around and walked back up the stairs to help.

Then I was in the compound of a large school or college at the bottom of a long set of steps that climbed up the hill to the main buildings. The church group had brought their books in a vehicle to the car park at the bottom of the steps. They had a long table set up by the buildings at the top of the hill from which they will distribute their books. Although I was not of their church group I felt obligated to help them. I then got hold of a wheelbarrow and helped to carry their books up the outdoor cement stairs.

· Books to be distributed to the education (school) of the community can be symbolic of written warnings concerning the Y2K bug that is being given through the Internet. Daystar Ministry (represented by the dreamer) which has little technological savvy on the bug will be helping in this process (as we are doing through the D&V List).

SCENE CHANGES

I was now driving our red Subaru car down the road in an isolated country area. I came across a small settlement which had a few shops that also catered for travelers. I needed to use the telephone so I parked the car and walked to where the shops were. When I got there I noticed that where the two telephoned were there were two long queues of folks waiting for their turn to use the phone. It was as if there was some disruption to the telephone system that caused folks to come and use these two public phones that worked. I walked towards the Post Office where I saw this special equipment that had been set up for the phone system.

I was at school with my friends Jess and Adrian. The main feeling for the whole day was like we were at a camp. We were walking around and we saw a snake in front of us. We went the other way and we kept on finding more snakes. Finally we ran up a hilly garden. We escaped from the snakes.

Then we were in a room with some other students and teachers. It was like our final year level assembly. One of the teachers was telling us not to worry about all the snakes. But Jess, Adrian and I knew that they were dangerous.

COMMENT BY PAULA

If the dream is addressing the Y2K bug then the school represents a place of revelation or learning about it. Seeing one snake first, then another and then more and more snakes could be revealing how problems caused by the Y2K bug will be discovered progressively over time. The ultimate effect will be alarmingly disruptive (We went the other way and we kept on finding more snakes. Finally we ran up a hilly garden. We escaped from the snakes).
