Discipleship to overcome fear of death in serious sickness

I am walking through an older house which has been abandoned and needs repair. The paint has begun to chip off of the walls.

I am leaving the house to meet my husband who has already left when my ex-husband comes in and wants to view the house. He wants to buy the house. I do not think this is a wise idea but say nothing to him. I really just want to go, but will not be unkind to him and walk behind him as he views the house. We walk out into the yard and Judge Howard is there. My ex-husband sits down to talk to him about his desire to purchase the house. The judge is a friend of mine so I stay to be involved in the conversation.

My ex-husband begins to cry, telling the judge about how he wishes he still had the property his grandfather had left him, that would probably help get this house. Although the judge never says it, I know by a shared look that he agrees with me that this is a bad idea. He kindly consoles my ex-husband.

I know the judge is representative of the Lord, the Howard even means sheep herder. I understand most of the symbolism in the dream, just not the application. If the Lord so leads, please pray for the application. I do not want to mis-apply or miss out on one thing the Lord is saying; I long for His favor more than the air that I breathe.

** You mentioned that you long for the favour of the Lord more than the air that you breathe. It could be that the dream is showing how this could happen.

The older house which has been abandoned and needs repair portrayed the Old Church Order that does not have the favour of God. Essentially the Old Order is where some measure of the daily reality of God’s direct teaching and leading in the lives of individual believers is non existent. The Old Order may preach about it, but unbelief is evident where there is no provision in church activities for folks to be actually discipled into it.

1Co 4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

You can read more about this on quite a few articles on my web site where contrast is drawn between the Old Order and the New End Time Church Order (NETCO). It is the latter that has the favour of God and the Lord desires that all believers enter into it. The dream may be showing how your desire after God has placed you in a position to be able to identify the two in your own life.

The situation with Jesus Christ and the Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes of the Gospels is similar to interaction between NETCO and the Old Church Order. Here, Jesus could represent the New Order (New Testament Covenant) and the Pharisees, Sadducees and Scribes could depict the Old Order (Old Testament Covenant). The former was directly taught and led of God from heaven and the latter had become an institution of the religious traditions of men. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Mar 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

In the dream your ex-husband could therefore represent your attachment to the Old Order. Even though you have opted for the new, your attachment desires to purchase or hold on to the old. The dream is firm by the justice of God (Judge Howard) that this is not a good idea.

Mat 9:16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
Mat 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Looks like the dream is saying that if you really want to please God as Jesus did, the challenge is for you to be cut off from the Old Church Order and embrace NETCO. If this shines a light in your heart then you and your new husband were led to my web site as part of the direct teaching and leading of the Holy Spirit in your lives.
