Hi my name is Syd Miller, I am married with three children and have been interested in slot cars since my early teens but was reunited with them five years ago by my wife. I have since been reunited with past friends who were and still are interested in racing. I prefer 1/32 scale racing but also enjoy 1/24 vintage and home built cars. I have a 60 foot (18 Metre) three lane timber track with copper braid, ferrodore surface and elliptical routing, which I built myself, in my back shed. I started off with a Scalectrix set (present from my wife), moved up to a Ninco track, raced on a friends' 130 foot (39 metre) got disillusioned with magnets and built my first timber track. The first track I built had copper tape which I found to be easy to put on but was high on maintenance and low on reliability so I passed my first track on to a friend and built another. In building the new track I have added a computer timing system using the "Slot Race Manager" program which I have found to be excellent.( I found this program on the net and it is free to download and worth checking out). Friday nights is race night at Daryl's (130ft track) with an occasional invitational race at other venues including my own. I sometimes have a midweek race on my track which we use as a warm up for Fridays.  If you live in Perth or are visiting and are interested in racing email me
