Computer Magnfication Software magnifies the icons, menus, windows and text appearing on a computer screen for the benefit of vision impaired users. Optek Systems can provide three options, MAGic 6.2 for Windows NT/2000, MAGic 8 for Windows 95/98/ME, or MAGic 8 with Speech for Windows 95/98/ME.

MAGic is a small software programme that works with Windows 95/98 and Windows NT, allowing magnification of the computer screen up to 20 times. MAGic is controlled by the keyboard,or via its own on-screen control panel. MAGic works seamlessly in combination with the JAWS screen reader. The latest versions have many new features which give it the best functionality for vision impaired users.

MAGic 8 with Speech is the top-of-the-range computer screen magnification system. Along with the magnification features, the Speech version speaks out loud icons, menus, dialogue boxes and messages as the mouse pointer moves over them. Documents and web pages can be read out loud automatically, without having to copy them into a notepad. Your typing is spoken back, letter by letter or word by word, if required. A version for Windows NT is expected soon.
