[Macpherson Brothers Music] [Members] [Gigs] [Discography] [Instruments]

Figurine formed in June 2003. The members of this outfit had been involved in countless music groups in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne over the last 20 years. We've members born in the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's!
Featuring the songs of Peter Macpherson, this band quickly established their very own style of tunes including "Broke" and "Old Cars".
Choice of instrumentation marked this collection of talents from their guitar-based contemporaries. Anna's trombone was unusual. Also, Donat usually plays drums for Pineapples From The Dawn Of Time and other acts. Pat usually plays guitar. We enjoyed the change....
Figurine even got some paid work.
Then the band reformed as The Pits.

The first gigs were performances by Peter and Donat at Australian
Songwriters Association meetings at Brunswick Hotel, New Farm. On July 4 2003 the whole band performed at Paddington Workers' Club. Other acts that night were: Mayblooms, Sourkraut, Marko Halstead, Cattle Axe, and Pineapples From The Dawn Of Time. A big crowd attended a night plagued with feedback problems. The next gig was at Melbourne Hotel, West End on August 1 2003. Other acts were: Hillweed, Delpino, and Ctrl+Alt+Delete. The crowd was smaller, but the sound heaps better. A pleasant night. |

There is a demo CD around, but it's pretty raw.
