MiNT Multitasking OS

MiNTNP is the version of this multi-tasking TOS extension I got to work many years ago. The latest version I installed was "MiNT114.lzh", available from Umich Archives.

The early versions didn't give "true" multi-tasking. More than one TOS program can run together, but still only one GEM program. I didn't bother with much time learning how to use it.

The PPPKit package includes MiNT, MiNTNET, and CAB.OVL for MiNTNET to provide PPP connections for the internet. I never got this to work. Lots of others find it good. (They must have 4Mb machines....)

NOTE: When I tried this some time ago, I didn't understand how to edit the MINT.CNF file to produce much difference from Single-TOS. Some people like it.

In the end, I bought Magic 5 OS for multitasking instead.

The XAAES replacement AES for MINT looks interesting, but I can't get it to work yet.

BOXKITE is good for a repacement file selector (and smaller than FREEDOM).

What are the most useful MiNTNP set-ups?
