Swell Guys 7 inch cover pic. Swell Guys were an interesting part of the Brisbane Punk scene which developed in the late 1970's and early 1980's. This band had something of an advantage, as they could actually play their instruments.

Steven is one of Brisbane's most tireless drummers. Tony played some pretty funny guitar....

They played at every major venue at one time or another.

Swell Guys moved to Sydney some time in 1981. They played several times at the Trade Union Club, a popular venue.

Some went on to play in No-Vee-Bleet and Brrr Cold.

In early 2006 Tony and Cyril released a CD "Hell.. Cabin.. Western.. Hillbilly" as The Squirrel Land.

Gigs

Like many other bands, Swell Guys often appeared at private functions in hired halls in order to get around the limits of Brisbane's Hotel venues.

The band played a few times in Sydney. Gigs at Trade Union Club, and Parish Hall were noteworthy.
