Welcome to my world of dolls.Hi - I'm Christine Treleaven and I live in Newcastle, Australia. I have been making cloth (and other media) dolls for several years now, following a long interest in all types of textile crafts. I discovered that cloth-doll making would allow me to combine many of these various interests into one arena. My dolls have variously been described as "quirky", "ugly", "interesting" and "full of character". One day I might make some "pretty" dolls, but for the moment I enjoy making "characters".
Most of my "people" dolls represent real people - characters we all know, although they are not meant to represent anyone in particular. (I have to say that lest someone is offended when they recognise themself.) My "fantasy" creatures are just that - creatures dredged up from my imagination. I don't really know people who look like some of my more imaginative creations. I get great satisfaction from designing my own dolls and love to share them with other interested people through my patterns. Browse through my designs on the following pages.
