NEWS: Remembrance Day 2010

Today, 11th November 2010, a day of remembrance, let us turn our thoughts to all the men and women who have served their countries; living and deceased.

Let us remember, that on this day 92 years ago, the signing of the Armistice ended hostilities on the Western Front and thus in time ending the "War to End All Wars!"

Regrettably, since the cessation of World War I, wars have continually been fought in various regions around the world. History seemingly repeating with the firing of the first bloodshed. While we may wish to witness nation's ability to resolve differences in ways other than war, the fact of the matter is that it probably will never happen in our lifetime or the lifetime of future generations.

For that reason, each year as we reach the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we will turn and face the western skies, bow our heads and observe a minute silence as we pay homage to the men and women serving today, and alike, those before them. Without their sacrifices, life would be different, the world, different.

Lest We Forget!
