Why should four men, all clothed in fancy dress costumes,
be murdered on the cellar of an empty house? The discovery
that they are all crooks is linked by the police to
the murder of a man who has been shot by a bullet from
a revolver found in the possession of one of the four
men. Department S are called in, but have only one thing
to go on: the police suspicion that a man named Martin
Kyle may be involved. Kyle is an employment agent with
a difference, and it is up to Stewart Sullivan to get
him to talk.
