July 17thReaction is startled when Captain Carter asks
London Airport Control for permission to land: the plane,
on its last sector from Roma, has been missing for six
days and given up for lost. Both crew and passengers
are as bewildered as the authorities. All maintain that
the flight has been absolutely normal-even Sir Curtis
Seretse, who had been travelling on the plane, is bemused
to find his three Department S operatives working on
the mystery. Until they're told, no-one realises that
almost a week has elapsed, though all admit that they
had dozed off during the flight.. including the pilot!
