Jon Jermey is available for Microsoft Access database development and debugging.
He has constructed databases for several clients, including Firmenich Australia
(www.firmenich.com) and Perfect Partners
(now Your Perfect Partner - www.yourperfectpartner.com.au).
Microsoft Access is a powerful but user-friendly database construction and maintenance system which can be used to create and manipulate data collections from a hundred to over a million individuals. Most small to medium businesses will benefit from a properly designed and implemented database system to deal with clients, transactions, inventory, publications, etc. Although there are many proprietary systems available for particular kinds of records (e.g. MYOB for financial systems, library cataloguing systems) sometimes these are not adequate for a business's special requirements. Small businesses may find the cost of a proprietary system actually exceeds the cost of having their own database built to their requirements, but if I believe a proprietary system is the best solution for you I will say so. Older data systems based on database or spreadsheet applications which are no longer adequate can usually be upgraded to Microsoft Access relatively easily. Charges for Access database work will normally be on an hourly basis, as follows: consultancy, meetings and collaborative design, $120 ph; constructing, populating and debugging a database, $80 ph.
