   The Kits are designed for use in Scale with Australian Model Railways

All kits are multi part white metal with decals and vac formed windows. The model can be built as a static model or can be motorised for operation. This can be done at a later date as the kits have been designed to allow this.

All trams can be motorised using a motorised chassis. which is NOT included in the kit. Please note trolley poles and pantographs in our kits are now display only. Working items are available, see our price list.

BULL ANT  MECHS

Recently we have been able to adapt the excellent Bull ant Mech by Hollywood Foundry to our kits this has been easier than we expected. 

The mech has a larger motor flywheel and low gearing 31.1 complete with dummy bogie. The other desired improvements are very slow running and  bogies to correct wheelbase. 

 Thanks to Geoff Baxter of Hollywood Foundry  who answered all questions and advised a better result than would have been possible. 

 

The Bull ant shown has a larger  motor, low geared box, fitted with swivel bolsters and no pick up on the dummy. W5 shown above was fitted with this mech. Runs really well.
Very Little alteration required to the Current Weico Tram Chassis.  3 holes to be drilled on the dummy bogie end 2 x 2mm  1 x  3mm centre. The Bull ant fits directly into the chassis. 

Any adjustment to height can be made by packing the ends of the mounting block attached to the body bulkhead. When re fitting the chassis. 
The dummy bogie does not require pick ups.  

 

We will continue to stock the very reliable Bowser Mechs which give excellent performance for very good value.

Please note  mechs and adapter kits have been set up and designed for Weico kits.  We cannot advise how they can be fitted to other products.

Above is a modified Bogie to improve the swing on tighter radius curves. Spring Bolster out from under the centre pin small screw driver should do it. Then use small file remove part of the plastic body in an angled notch. As shown by arrows above. Also put a bend in the brass pick up arms to allow for the extra movement. 

 

Just a quick note to let you know about the Mech for our trams.

All new stock has been packed with the relevant adaptor kits included.

The kits still can be finished in static display. New lower bogies are included to take the new chassis. Seats are included. However these are not required if the kit is to be motorized. And kits sold with motors will not have seats included.

The adaptor kit has been designed to take the Bowser produced mech and includes a new one-piece chassis plate. Two spacer supports for the chassis and new side frame support blocks. Plus a motor mounting block.

We have designed the adaptor kit to be retro- fitting to all kits which have been produced in the last few years, which have the PDT style chassis castings.

Older kits can be fitted with a motor but some alteration is required. But not beyond doing.

The mech has been packed as universal to all kits.

We will supply the relevant adaptor kit as a spare part and these will be $16.50 (post Inc) Aust only
