Lead Acid Battery History

The lead acid battery has been around since about 1859 when a guy named Guston Plante first through a couple of lead plates into a dilute solution of sulfuric acid and applied a current to the plates. To cut a long story short he found that by forming the battery he could achive quite good results.
The Plante cell is the simplest lead acid battery to manufacture and their still being produced even today.
