| The
Red-browed Finch (Also called the Red-browed Firetail) is common along the banks of the Nepean. This bird with it's red 'spectacles' and red rump is very attractive when viewed close up, however a flock of around 50 feeding on the ground usually looks like a flock of small brown birds. |
| Size: 11-12 cm |
| Voice: a very high pitched 'ceee'. |
| Nesting Ecology: The nest is a bulky bottle shaped structure of dried and green grasses, lined with feathers and fine grass. Sep-Jan but often into Autumn. |
| Australian Distribution:
East coast Cape York to around Adelaide. |
